I've just got to the point where I feel like doing the Manchester 100 km, only to find out I can't do it with my kids and trailer.

It's weird as they are adamant you can't do the event on a triathlon type bike as it is not competitive, but can't bring the kids on a trailer either.

So what is it?

Are there any events in the north where I can plod at 10mph or so without the fun police killing it?

Not sure just how far north you are willing to go, but Pedal for Scotland is very family friendly and attracts cyclists from both ends of the spectrum. Glasgow to Edinburgh (50 or 110 mile routes) Sunday 6th September.

Shame the great Manchester cycle has already happened this year. The shorter distance was aimed at families. Iirc there are also Sky rides.
