If you are keeping the old worktop, I suggest you measure the old sink diagonally front to back. This is because some sinks have more rounded corners than others. If your old sink corners are of a sharp radius, and the new one has more rounded corners, it will not " fill the hole".

Thanks all. In the end decided to look for a sink with the same dimensions since the rounded corners on the slightly smaller sink might have proved a problem for the existing cut out.
