Any recruitment consultants out there?

My current contract ends next week so I am looking for something starting in January. I specalise in IT procurement.

If anyone out there is a recruiter who deals with procurement, supplier management or commercials in IT and telecoms, please make yourselves known!

Just go on LinkedIN...and mention that you want some help with IT recruitment ... you will be inundated in seconds... it's all LinkedIN seems to be used for.

What Christmas parties? None of our clients or contractors are bothering ...it's a bit Scrooge-like round these parts this year. Even missed Mrs A_T's Christmas bash this year.

I'm Billy No Mates today as I have been told to sit and wait for a supplier contract to come in, review it, and approve if appropriate. It's 1.20pm and still nothing other than a message saying "it'll be with you Monday." Meanwhile, everyone else is in London partying at the company's expense.

Hang on till January, new budgets, project dead lines in 2013 feature on the bosses minds more when the calendar roles over. Market usually picks up a bit in Jan then the biggest pick up in April in the new tax year.
You don't stand much chance of a job in the next couple of weeks as the human remains department will be depleted, finance people won't be available to sign contracts.

Funny how the people that do the work all year are the ones looking after the shop while the sales, HR and marketing bods are out meeting up with all the others who are similarly under-employed.... Bitter? Me, nah!

On Tuesday or so, we should be receiving Procurement tenders requiring submission on the 2nd January.
