im toying with the idea of building a light xc racing bike (hard tail)

ive got a grand to play with

what do you's think of this for th frame, which i can pic up for about £300, maybe cheaper

It'll build a nice bike, and thats a nice enough frame. but you could pick up a very good deal for 1k 2nd hand. Even check the sales as there a few of last years models going for very good mioney. Pauls Cycles is always worth a look for a bargain

It looks fantastic to me.
However, you're probably not going to be able to build that frame up to race spec' with just £600 unless you already have half the bits / you use secondhand parts.
