Anyone from Swindon?

I've a sneaking suspicion I've asked this question before (tried a search but couldn't find anything), so apologies if so:

Is it true there's a mural somewhere in the town, of local heroes and band par excellence XTC?

I have lived in Swindon for 12 years but I have never heard anything about a mural to XTC.

I've heard there is a £10,000 prize for anyone who can actually persuade Andy Partridge to get on stage again. There would also be a queue from Swindon to Reading to see it as well.

Yep, but I actually came across the phrase before the Dukes came into being. Perhaps they had read the same book of old English slang that my brother had, because it grouped VC and Sir John together as well.

Dr Challoners for me, I've not been back to that part of the world since 1987. Chalfont was on TV not long ago, I caught a bit of 'Road Wars' where they were doing a drugs bust just off the top of the high street - nice!
