Currently having a issue with Amazon over a juicer. 2 weeks out of 12 months Amazon warranty. But has 2 years, manufacturer warranty. Not ideal sending it to manufacturer due to cost of p+p.

Never has worked very well, packed up yesterday.

So have been on the Amazon chat for 45 mins having the most stupid conversation of my life. I was super nice and I put a bit of effort in explaining that it never worked very well, and has been getting worse and worse for a while, now it's totaly bust, then the blah about the sale of goods act. They just reply with the same 'We only supply 12 month warranty'. Kept going around in circles. Got referred to a manager. He was nothing but curt bordering on rude. Kept repeating the rubbish the first guy did. He eventually said he is going to refer it to their internal team. Whatever that is.

I know they 100% have to repair, replace or refund it. Happy with either. Why on earth are they are being so ignorant of the SoGA I don't know.

I bought a humidistat controlled extract fan from City Electrical Factors which packed in after 11 months, took it back and they replaced it without any problem.
The replacement lasted about 9 months and burnt out, they replaced it again.
After 6 months that burnt out so went back again and this time they took it apart to find that condensation was forming inside the unit and building up in a recess in the fan causing the humidistat unit to short out and burn out.

Replaced it with a simple with a pull on/pull off cord and it worked perfectly.... might be wondering why I stuck with the same make, but it was a really efficient one and each one worked perfecty up to the day they stopped!

Great service, would always use CEF in future.

Bought a chainsaw from Aldi or was it Lidls? Either way hammered it. 2 years and 10 months into the 3 year garuntee I broke the pull. Rung up Aldi/Lidls supplier they said they would send a courier to fetch it, once I had supplied copy of the receipt. Told them just the pull swas knackered o they decided to send the part once they had seen copy of receipt. Took 2 weeks but sent wrong part, rung them and the right part was sent overnight. Told me to keep the part sent by mistake.......a new chain! Moral buy from Aldi/Lidls in future. Well at least from the one supplier einhell who normally sell under the name parkside. Excellent service.

Cracking a solo.
It's not 12 months it's 5 years, if the item can be resonably expected to last that long. It's a bit of a grey area as there are no hard and fast rules, each case is pretty much judged on it's own merits, however, you basically have 5 years not 1 year in which the retailer should be sorting you out. Speak to trading standards

I had my ps3 replaced after 3 and a half years due to the yellow light of death by game. They were useless until I asked to speak to their legal dept and mentioned sog act 1979. It got replaced by the local store an hour later.
