Anyone taken a GPS into Cuba?

As above - it's questionable whether I will get a pure GPS unit (Garmin 705) through customs. However, things are often not clear cut so was wondering if anyone had some real life experience.

Thanks Jay, that's really really helpful.

I'd read the top link already and there's a lot of misinformation it.

I've contacted Skedaddle and they said it should be fine and they haven't heard of any problems.

I'll take some stuff as back up (map!) just in case.

Go on Strava, click "Explore", zoom out from your locality, zoom in onto Cuba - you will see plenty of sections set up/recorded! Looks very much like it wouldn't bbe an issue! :smile:

Yeah, thought of that too. I'd commented on a couple of people's rides where I could see they had used a garmin. I've just had a response back that says it wasn't a problem and he has been there several times with diffrerent Garmins.

Looks positive then, although you just never know...

Are you sure they will let you into Cuba?
As long as they don't let him out again will it matter?
