Anyone want to join our charity cycling Tour de France trip?

Hey guys,

Last year I cycled 5 mountain stages of the Tour de France for charity and want as many people to join me as possible this year, especially as it's the 100th one! We'll be both cycling and watching stages of this year's tour. Details are in the images below. This isn't a commercial post. I simply want as many people to experience this incredible experience as possible. All I'd ask is that you'd be comfortable with cycling for 1 charity that we all decide upon.

We shall be cycling a number of past and present stages, along with watching 3 key stages this year. These are stages 15 (Mont Ventoux), 18 (Alpe-D'Huez), and 21 (Paris). I won't know exact costs per person, but I would be surprised if we have to pay more than £500 - 750 each, including petrol, toll road fees, accommodation etc.

Underneath are small write-ups of each day of cycling, plus links to the videos of my charity ride last July, to give you an idea of what an amazing experience it will be!

..seriously...those look like some serious pain...i wonder if i can fit a triple on the bianchi...hmm...ther eis ice cream at the top right?:headshake:....thought so...am i right assuming that those doing this are serious roadie fit as you like shaven legged masochists?....I have no problem shaving my legs...so thats 1 out of three then...it sounds very tempting...i have no clue what gear ratios etc the tour guys use...is this done at snails pace or tdf pace? I dislike riding in groups...I'm often tail end charlie...like ten miles behind ha ha

I love the insanity of it all and I wish you well.

I would also like to thank you for planning my motorcycle holiday for this year. You have saved me hours of work.

Have a great trip, you deserve it.

Hi mate, I have been looking out for something along these lines and always keen to support charity hence if I can swing it with the good lady and work then it could be a goer.. Relatively fit but not a mountain goat. How many folks have signed up?

So what do you make out of it? I can't beleive some one would go to all the trouble of arranging this for 10, 20, 30, 80 other cyclists with nothing in it for themselves? It just wouldn't be worth all the hassle, charity or no charity. Is the ride fully supported?

err, new member seems to be replying on behalf of OP, after extolling the virtues of the ride, looks bit fishy to me

I wouldn't think this "holiday" would be ATOL or ABTA bonded. Most of these sorts of charity events, the organisers trouser a fair amount of the entry cost. Presumably those signing up will have to raise a set amount of cash?
