Apple Copying Samsung These Days?

IIRC the average smart phone has some 64,000 patents in its design, parts and build

At some point everyone will "copy" everyone else and a few people they will never have even heard of

Apple never claim to be innovators. Their iPad wasn't the first tablet. The iPhone wasn't the first smart phone. The Mac wasn't the first computer. The iPod wasn't the first music plsyer

What they excel at is taking a product and with style and marketing, dominate the market. Not necessarily in terms of units but in revenue.

How sustainable this is is yet to be seen. Their latest product, the watch, is selling exceptionally well but nowhere near enough to maintain their status. They need another game changer.

They are both way behind.

I once had a Motorola phone burst into flames on my desk at work. It melted the laminate before I managed to scoop it up with a book and toss it into the stainless steel sink.

Motorola sent me a replacement the same day by courier without so much as a question. Unfortunately there was no real Internet to post this onto as that slacker berners-lee hadn't got around to it yet.

I wonder, with the ease at which it was replaced, how often this was happening.

I don't think either Samsung nor Apple want to patent an exploding battery

The other response could have been "WHOOSH" (for your post and/or Apple)

Problem is identifying which of those patented parts is duff
