making it difficult to transfer ipod music to android etc is just the tip of the iceberg.

No it's not. Protected AAC files (which haven't been sold by the iTunes store for years anyway, everything's now in ITunes Plus- 256kbps, unprotected) won't play on Android. Regular AAC (including iTunes Plus purchases) and MP3s just need to be dragged and dropped.

Watch yourself, that's dangerously close to defending Apple, which doesn't seem popular on this thread...

Thanks for that info, you've still not convinced me that reverting back to Apple is a wise move. A more full open source experience coupled with aptoid and no need to Jail Break is a far more appealing option.

Update. They are a s.h.i.t.ty, w.a.n.k.y company. I provided an email address (that I rarely use) as a contact point for my initial complaint to ITunes. They now claim I have another account with Apple (Not ITunes) and I need to make a scheduled call to Apple (not Itunes) (pacific time) to close it. I need to verify my ID details to a company that does not have any of my ID details to close an account that I have never opened. This account was opened under my email address within 4 hours of me providing said email address to Itunes! Feckers!

Oh dear, I can't match Mark's tribulations but I had something similar a few years ago.

Someone at a company left a voicemail message on their office phone saying "I am out today, please ring xxxxx."

The problem was the number the person left was my home number - and I happened to be off that day.

I took a dozen or so calls and it proved difficult to convince the callers the number they had was left in error.

One person called three times, some thought I was the employee of the company and was working from home.

Exasperated, I called the company and managed to get through to a director who grasped the situation and was suitably apologetic.

Fair play to the company, the managing director called about 30 minutes later to apologise again.

Apple t&c say no refunds for fraud. I got caught out with my card being hacked to buy two Russian audiobooks before I cancelled card etx. No longer save cards in iTunes.

Now with any fraud claim, bank have to refund immediately while they investigate. Finally, a benefit of being in the eu, shared rules across Europe.
