This one didn't have the reg on the trailer, luckily the company name was on the back door.

Make sure you put that in the Police form, and if you havent already it can be added to the Smidsy submission.

If you see a large LDV van towing a trailer from Approved Driveways of Solihull get off the road, quickly.

One of them hit me with his trailer this morning in Earlswood, forcing me up on to the pavement at a 45 degree angle to the kerb, not easy on a drop bar bike doing about 20mph. He passed me very close with the van, then pulled in so the very large trailer was pushing against my right pannier, not nice.

I would report this to Solihull police but I gave up after being told for the twentieth time that i was working my way down the queue.

Tales from the Bleak Country :B)

That really is a shame, perhaps it would be an idea to put it in writing.

Yeah i'm ok, and the bike's fine. Scariest bit was that the van had gone and the trailer's obviously silent, all a bit strange.
Logged on SMIDSY and will try police again tonight, cheers for your concern all.

Other thing was it got me thinking about trailers, bit of googling confirmed that if you passed your driving test after 1997 you have no entitlement to pull a trailer, i bet half of the kids towing trailers behind builders vand aren't allowed to do so.

Putting on my pedant hat for a moment, thats not strictly true. You can pull a trailer with a MAM up to 750kg (as long as this doesn't bring the total vehicle plus trailer weight over 3.5t). Anything other than that and yes, if you passed after 1997 you require a '+E' entitlement on your liscence.
