Hot and hotter! Wear lycra or polycotton and relish the rain.

Thanks Guys, I'll steer clear of Army gear then.
What sort of use are you contemplating, mana? Long-distance winter commuting or as a "just in case" addition to your bag to fend off a summer downpour?

If the latter, then I can't recommend polycotton or lycra highly enough. I've a couple of pairs of these, which are warm enough to wear just about all year but which don't get chilly when they are wet. They also seem to dry in seconds as soon as the rain stops, I've never felt the need for a waterproof over-trouser.
