That's starting at Keston Common, nowhere near where I saw the arrows up..?

Yes but the walks are 3/8/11 miles long, WW isn't thar far from Keston from memory (having grown up in LBB, moving about 15 years ago (indeed,3 miles acc to Google maps).
They'll have arrows all along the routes

No sign of sportives. Millions of ladies walking along Jackass Lane though.

Not many Strava PB's being smashed along there today, I'll wager.
