I headed out for the first test run on the new Kona Dew (2013). Picked it up as a clearance item at £291. It was needed to replace my C. Butler Voyager that was showing severe signs of its age and was getting rather unreliable. It was choice of spending about £100 on parts or buy a new bike. I opted to give the Voyager to a young employee to start his cycling journey.

The Dew performed well on and off road. It's a very different ride to the Voyager but I am sure that it will be fine once I have it tuned to my liking. It has a few nice little touches that show it's a more refined bike than the old Voyager.

Money well spent (I hope). That's of course until you all tell me that I have bought a real dog of a bike...

Sounds fine, main thing you are happy with it.

...so seven weeks in and the Dew had to go back to the shop to have the rear wheel bearings replaced. Slightly worrying.

Still enjoying riding it though.
