Last night some scroats tried to get in my garage.

Woke up this morning and noticed the glass missing from the garage window. The thieves had carefully removed all the wooden beading, then the glass. Why they did not spot an additional perspex panel and steel bars I do not know.

They broke some of the perspex to have a look inside as the window is also covered by a net curtain. The security lights had all had their sensors turned away and bulbs disconnected. The garage also has a side door, but it is of no use as its permanently bolted and is you can't open it even from inside. The main up and over has additional locks and can't be opened from inside.

Had they got in, the bikes are all dlocked to the ground.

Off out now to get some more wood beading and get a garage alarm.

A guy down the road had all his custom MTB's taken from his garage about 6 months ago.

Just gonna get a shed alarm, which would be noisy. The garage is right near our bedroom, so they must have been quiet as I don't sleep well with my shoulder, oh and I'd not been drinking last night, ahem.

Wonder if these were the same guys who broke into that prison. If so you could act as a security consultant for the prison .

Glad nothing was taken and no real damage done.

You want to get yourself a couple of these as an early warning, carefully placed it stops them from even getting near the garage - http://www.henrykrank.com/alarm_mine.html

I think it was the net curtain that stopped 'em Foss, very clever extra security feature

Right...

Got some new beading and refitted glass - now't I can do about it being rubbish as it's a wooden window (hence the previous security bars). The putty had obviously gone hard - can't believe they got the whole pane out intact. It's now been re-secured with silicone sealant.

Two additional bars added to the window (they are thick steel building straps that are used to join joists and a pain to try and cut with a hacksaw) - and an additional two on the side door.

A couple of knock sensitive battery alarms are now on the door and window, and a PIR remote shed alarm fitted.

Just worry as they have seen a fair bit of what was in there, but won't realise the locks/chains on all the bikes.

The car is going to be nosed up to the garage door from now on.

I'm just hoping they thought they might be able to get in and open the side door. Grrr - at least they didn't get in, unlike my neighbour's garage.
