The vet has suggested that a wheel from a Lego set could be glued under where the leg would be, and all will be well! So I need to get a Lego wheel that pivots so she can go round corners.

Might need to build it a little.
Probably bearing element 2x2 with rim no.2 and normal wide tyres x2 for stability, then a turn plate underneath connecting to a further 2x2 (or more depending on height needed) then glue the underside of the bottom 2x2.

Cost you about £1.16 from lego pick a brick (unless you have some lego at home you can cannibalise) + p&p

I thought that among reptiles it was only lizards that could do that with their tails, as they can "let go" of it if it somehow gets trapped.
Spiders, starfix and axlotls can regrow limbs. Everyone else has to make do. Many lizards have detachable tails which they can regrow. Chelonians get what they were born with sadly.

Good luck to the little fella.

Keep in mind that if it was a fox, it could come back one day......

Very possibly a young fox that was recently kicked out and was chancing its luck and learning it's way

Holy crap, if you ever have to inject a tortoise have two people around, keep your fingers away from their mouth (yes, honestly) and get some really strong glasses for drawing up 0.04ml of a medicine!
