With the Flintshire Challenge not running this year, my plans of a decent return to "proper" cycling with an autumn sportive ride have gone on hold.

So is anyone aware of any autumn sportive rides in the north west of england/North wales area- I'm based in merseyside, so have decent access to most interesting parts of the country around & about.

I'd be looking for something reasonably challenging without being a killer - certainly not century distance at the moment, don't mind it being a little hilly but not Dragon ride hilly.

The reason I'd planned on the Flintshire as my target is that I rode it a few years ago, so knew what to expect in terms of distance, hills, etc.

Should I think about Audax?

Or just get the map out and set off on your own route. It is allowed.

Its more the fact that an organised ride becomes a target to ride to, whereas getting the map out sometimes means things don't happen - late starts, poor weather etc.
