It's only contract at the moment and I'm living out of a suitcase but I've borrowed a 'Light Weight Steel Foldable Bike', aye right ;) Its a heavy sub £100 folder (aka BSO) but it'll hopefully do the job in the short term for the 1.6mile flat cycle to my new work. I desperately need to get some cycling in after yesterday's cycle with my old club, 19.2mph for 55miles, I have something very unusual for me stiff thighs! I think as its pretty flat here I'll eventually buy a single speed and if it goes permanent I'll bring one of my 10sp road bikes down (probably the kinesis, its most used and versatile)

Good luck in your new job!

Surely you should be flying Typhoon eurofighters, and protecting our skies^_^ Please tell me it was a flat 55miles, or cycling from Everest base camp to sea level, or I will cry

It was in Fife/ Clackmannan/ Stirling so not exactly flat but not the hilliest of routes there, only 2,449ft of climbing and most of that was at the start (click for the GPS output). Down here in Chelmsford I'll be lucky if I see 50ft in 55miles.

I thought you'd been quiet. Hope it works out. Bit of time off the bike might slow you down to some more mortal speeds

What's the story with Chelmsford? I lived there for a couple of years in the late 90's - didn't like the place.

Lived in Springfield for a bit then over on Meadgate Avenue.

There's some nice countryside to cycle around there though.
