Hi Guys,

Thinking of going to Bala this weekend and cycling along the lake up over the hills and back again. It's about 23 miles. Has anybody done it and how hard are the climbs?

Cheers,
Andy.

probably out cycling
Its amazing cycling around there, going around the lake is flat but venture up into the hills and you wont regret it

This descent here still ranks as one of my favourites of all time

If you zoom in the ascent to it from Dinas Mawddwy direction includes the legendary Bwylch y Groes climb before the summit, where Morris used to test a cars hill climbing ability. It hits 33% in places so compact or triple gearing preferred. But the view from the top are amazing. Its likely to be all covered in pink heather too making it seem more cycledelic (deliberate typo^_^)

But you can also climb to the same point from the Lake Vyrynwy side, the turn at the top coming from the right and avoid Bwych y Groes, but its still hilly. I'm jealous, you'll love it.
