I had an uncle (mentioned him on here before) who used to race on cane wheels in Ireland in the 40s/50s. Sadly he smoked and drank himself into an early grave, but apparently he was pretty good in his time!

As he overtook the others, brushing them aside, they all cried "You clipped us!"

I just spotted a Bamboo-framed road bike in the window of Blazing Saddles of Hebden Bridge. It looked very interesting and I'd love to have a go on it but they are pretty expensive. Here it is on the UK distributor's webpage.
