As the post says.
I have been wanting to restore a vintage bike for some time.
Well i have found one that i feel fits the bill.my daughter was looking for a road bike for a bit of recreational riding as her mountain bike is too heavy and has full suspension.
This came up on fleabay.i placed a few bids and got it.
One owner from new and the mileometer was fitted when they bought it.At that mileage there shouldnt be a lot of wear.
Everything works on it and there is rust on the wheels and chrome bits.Tyres are shot at,so its going to get a sympathetic rolling restoration(nice winter project).Cannot see a size on the tyres as they are completely perished.Any suggestions and stockists please.

at a guess would say 27" should be stamped on the rims

doesnt look like its going to need much work doing so good fine and welcome to the vintage corner for nutters

Looks great, I'm just starting to restore an old Raleigh and the bits for it are dirt cheap. Enjoy

Very nice. Just a question of getting rid of the rust and a general lube. Wheels will almost certainly be 27". Replace the brake blocks with ones that will stop the chrome rims in the wet. Good luck.

Good point about the brakes. I find "V" brake shoes and blocks with replaceable blocks a very good option.

The restoration has begun

Everything has come apart nicely.
The rims hace cleaned up but are in poor condition . Pitted but true.
Think i will complete the bike and let her ride it,whilst looking for new wheels or rims.
Will post as things progress.
