Hi All,

brand new to the world of cycling and just wanted a bit of advice on which bike to go for as I don’t really have much of an idea being so new. The 2 I have looked at and are currently in stock in my size(I’ve been looking for ages and none seem to be in my size anywhere

My budget is really no more than £750
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!.

Thanks in advance

Have you checked Tredz do actually have stock as they are notorious for having stuff on their website which they don’t have and can’t get hold of!

the Orbea has a better groupset, but is more expensive (and over your budget in fact)

Stocks of new bikes are patchy at best right now, and likely it's not going to improve anytime soon.

If you haven't got a bike, then anything that fits you and gets you riding will do right now as long as it's not a Bike Shaped Object. Don't sniff at buying secondhand if you have the opportunity. Maybe @Gunk or @biggs682 can help you out a) depending on your location and b) if you're willing to be open-minded.

If you have a bike currently, then the best advice is to sit tight and carry on riding what you've got until stock levels are better.

At the end of the day, any bike is better than no bike. ^_^

The problem with your budget is that for a new bike the groupsets seem to be either Sora or Claris. Sora is the better of the two and the latest 10 speed Sora is very similar to the older Shimano 105 6700. However apply your £750 budget to a used bike and you will pick up a proper peach. £750 will buy you a carbon frame and Ultegra groupset if you look hard enough.

I sold my BMC earlier this year for £650 with full 105 5800 and it was like new. Much better spec than the two you are looking at new.
