Behold! Lee 'Scratch' Perry cometh!

We get few opportunities to see him up here but here he comes! If you can wait until February, Perry is playing at Holmfirth (we're going there next Friday to see HMHB) on the 15th and then the following Monday and Tuesday, Perry graces the majestic Band on the Wall in Manchester. We've bought tickets for both Band on the Wall shows but the Holmfirth tickets don't go on sale until Monday.

You won't get many more chances to sanctify your soul with this blessing so if music moves you, do your best to get to one of them.

He's also playing in that London and Cambridge while he's here.

Saw him at the Liverpool Academy in 2006 and he was better than the best thing I'd ever seen to that point. Being the days pre-the smoking ban, it was impossible not to be stoned as there was a lot of 'herbal' being smoked. Some of it by the audience! But Band on the Wall's never NOT been going (apart from renovation). I drove past it last night and my primrose was positively fizzing.
