Berlingo et al mk1 Vs mk2

I can't for the life of me find the Berlingo thread.

In particular I want to know is the MK2 much bigger than the MK1

Is the 1.6tdi as reliable as the old 1.9tdi

No.

That said, it's a more economical and livelier unit, and any that have survived this long are probably sound enough.

I dont really,know as have no experience of the mk1. Certainly the 2 makes cleverer use of the space.

Personally I like them, but I also like ready salted crisps and Status Quo.

Mk1's are a lot smaller and go up to 2008. They're very van-like.

Mk2's are the larger version, which they've kept for the current shape, and are from 2008. They drive more like a car.

I think, in the van at least, they make an LWB version that looks like it's had an extra bit welded on the back

Indeed, besause the mk2 was developed on the Peugeot PF2 platform, as originally used on the mk1 308.

Ive a Berlingo 2012 1.6 diesel...engine seems pretty good,plenty of high milage ones around so seem pretty robust.Think I've around 160,000 on mine...barely run in for me !
It serves it's purpose for us...seats fold flat or clip out so plenty of room for moving stuff around.Use it mostly as a camper which is what we bought it for to be honest.Not sure I'd keep it if it wasn't for the camper aspect of it.
Much preferred the Honda accord we had for driving...but I don't get to make the decisions in our house 😁
