Gone. And we killed him at 16:15 hrs, January 29th 2013.
That's it really.

EDIT: He was only twelve, which is young for a terrier, but he had had terrible trouble with his alimentary canal ( all of it ) for a couple of months. The vets said that it was something to do with his pancreas. Ten days ago he stopped eating and drinking so he went to stay for a few nights at the vet. He came home and was a miserable, weak , fading shadow for a few more days. The vets were not at all optimistic although they were coining it on our pet insurance, about £900 for four days in a kennel. It isn't an easy decision to kill an animal with which you have shared the most part of your daughter's life but we didn't like to see him suffering any longer. Adieu.

Sounds like the same end as my J R terrier. She was 16 when i had her put to sleep 3 months ago.

R.I.P Bertie.

You've done the right thing for Bertie SM and I'm sorry for your loss. Personally though, in view of Yello's now locked thread I'd have kept this one to myself.

I've just had the remains of last night's stir fry for breakfast.

Somehow the word 'sarnies' disappeared from my post, now corrected. Your stir fry for brekkie beats my poxy bowl of cereal though. Lashings of soy sauce on the stir fry? Can't have too much unless it's that horrid 'light' stuff.
