Best Bicycle Insurance?

I'm currently looking to insure my bike and want to know the best company for this. I don't want public liability insurance, just the bike e.g stolen, damaged e.t.c

Thanks guys.

p.s I don't have home insurance, either.

Home contents is usually the cheapest route with the fewest restrictions (my policy says the bike must be 'locked' - that's it, no specification for lock, no requirement to be locked to anything). If you don't have home insurance, though, you'll be stuck with a bike-specific policy. Hopefully others can advise on the best one there.

If my 2k bike got nicked, I sure as hell wouldn't be happy paying for a new one.
Nor would I. But over those years insurance would have cost me far more than the occasional theft; and in fact I have never had a bike stolen or damaged.

I just make sure my bike doesn't get nicked by not locking it anywhere it might get nicked... and when i do lock it outside... it has a meatier lock than the other bikes near it, so it's not the 'easy' option.... plus, who'd nick a rigid MTB these days?

over the last fourteen years I've saved X amount on insurance... all of which will be spent on a replacement should my bike get nicked.

The thing is, you never know when or how it could happen. I have to cycle through the ghetto to get to central and I had 7 dudes try grab me from the road I saw them a while back up the road and sped up. If I slowed down, that bike would have been gone!

I'm more in it for accidental damage claims. I never lock my bike up in public unless there's security 24/7 staring at the bikes. My college had one lol but yeah, mostly damage claims.

I wouldn't take a £2000 bike that route; and if I had to, I might consider insurance. For trundling round town I ride a battered but mechanically sound fixed wheel and I have yet to see any scrotes looking enviously at it.
With insurance you do have to weigh up risk and reward, with an industry trying to tell you that the risk is much bigger than it is. Even though the risk of my house burning down is tiny, the cost would wipe me out, so that is insured.
