Hi everyone,

Ive been road biking for a while now, but i want to get back to mountain biking. Ive somewhat neglected MTB's and ive lost touch on what is the crowd favourite at the moment so i was hoping for some advice and help on what the best mountain bike is from user experience.

I test rode Specialized Stumpjumper Fsr 29er and i found it to be an amazingly smooth bike and landing was so comfortable, and 29ers give it a new experience but was an effort to get off the ground. I was looking at some 2014 MTB's and the one i set my sights on was the 2014 stumpjumper FSR evo 26:

I was just wondering what people think, and if anyone has test rode any 2014's and can give me a good suggestion that would be a great help. Im also interested in what not to buy, because i dont want my wheels to come off when im riding.

Thanks a lot

Why no 27.5? I'm happy with my 26er and never been tempted by a 29er but could be by a 27.5 , best of both worlds maybe?

I agree with goody, 29 doesn't look right, wouldn't fancy coming down something in the Alps on wheels that big. Buts that's only what I think the 750b could be just right though. Go to a demo day at one of the trails centres see what you think, there should be loads to try, all the different wheel sizes as well

Yeh I agree, smaller wheels are better, I think the novelty of the 29's was which gave it the new exciting experience but i think in the long run i should stick with what im used to. Thank you for the advice, I really appriciate it, If anyone else has anymore suggestions that would be awesome.

I've just put on order a S-Works Epic world cup.
Super aggressive geometry for those who show up and blow up, they are a 29r so roll over everything but handle and turn in more like a 26.
I can't wait for mine to come.
