Cheers, they sound dangerous though if you can't sleep whilst you nap. I'll see how things go, but most likely this light will be what I buy. Just the shipping time is an issue as I need the light quite quick.

In reality you can. I've had this light for coming up to 8 months now, in which time I've used it significantly both as a torch and a bike light, and as such have charged it many times with no issues what so ever. I'm just overly cautious.

I actually took the charger apart and it had none of the issues that Torchy shows on his site.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Eight of these when they come back into stock. It's the best front light I've ever used.

Eight?! Do you have any space on the bars for your hands?

I've got one of those, and I'd say that the light I linked above is as powerful as eight of those, if not more. Check out the photos on my review and it compares the two using consistent manual camera settings.

So much easier to charge one lithium battery than 8x3 AAA's.

I've used a couple of THESE for a few years now as my main lights and they've never let me down once, might not be the brightest lights out there as singles, but coupled together they make a great pairing. They are very robust and very well made.

I had my eye on the Moon300, but would it be better than two smart Lunars? And thanks for all the suggestions, if the posting wasn't so long, I would probably go for one from eBay

I've got a Moon 300. It's bright, the battery lasts more than two hours on high and it's quite enough own its own even in unlit lanes up to about 20-25 mph. The only drawback I've found is that the battery doesn't like the cold - charge it up fully and if the temperature's close to zero you get the low battery warning!

Another option is a pair of Ultrafire 501b torches from Deal Extreme (I suggest two for redundancy: Ultrafire aren't too hot on the reliability front). The XP-G version is slightly brighter than the Moon 300, and a decent 18650 lithium ion battery will last 2-3 hours (capacity dependent). You'll also need torch mounts, batteries and an 18650 battery charger for that, though.

DX also do a clone of the Magicshine light - but I'd recommend avoiding that and spending the extra money on the Magicshine instead - it's far better quality. You can get a Magicshine MJ838B with a Cree XP-G LED for less than £40 which is both brighter and has a longer burn time than the Moon.
