Want a new helmet.

More than £70 would seem a lot of money.

For use most days, commuting.

Advice for how to pick one please?

I would say one that fits...
Different brands fit different shape heads. You really need to try a few on.

The Specialized Chamonix is a SNELL approved lid, relatively light, loads of vents and costs under £30 if you shop around. If it fits you then I wouldn't look at anything else.

Yes I was also looking at buying a new Specialized helmet, my old one was light and comfy.
Evan's have got one in small and large at £19.99.

Having left my helmet away from home, I was looking for a new one for short term use. After trying on a few sale items, I ended up getting one for less than a tenner in Tesco. Now it may not be Snell approved like my specialised one, but it does seem a good fit, which I think is most important.

I have the Chamonix, it's a comfy lid that fits nicely, perhaps more importantly, it allows me to mount Knog Frogs through the vent holes in winter. I think the Airforce 3 (also Specialized) is Snell approved too.
