Best Mobile Phone Handlebar Mount?

I'm looking for a decent handlebar mount for my Galaxy which is in a faux leather notepad style case.

I want to put it on the road bike for sat nav purposes when I start venturing out onto the roads I'm less familiar with. I'm not looking for anything waterproof or with additional storage. I have one on the MTB which is a car windscreen one I was given as a present which I then modified (I took off the sucker mount and mated the unit with an old reflector mount).

There is a dizzying array of phone holders out there so some feedback (good or bad) from real life users would be great.

The best mount is the quadlock. I have it on 3 of my bikes. But I almost never use them since I bought my Aftershokz headphones. My phone stays safe in my pocket and sends instructions to the headhobnes.

That's actually a pretty good idea although I have noticed that Mrs google maps doesn't always say the right things when I'm using the phone as a sat nav. There's one right turn on my commute where she tells me to continue straight ahead. Meanwhile, the on screen directions contradict her. She also has a habit of going quiet for long spells and not telling me what to do every five seconds.

I've looked at Garmin but the missus is already pissed off enough with my profligate bike stuff spending so I don't want to give her even more ammo.

It's my 60th this year so a top end bike computer is head of the pressie list.

Dedicated bike computer on the bars and the phone in a sweat proof case in the back pocket if you get really lost.

I saw these before Christmas in Wheelbase on display. I have some Bose sound sport for travelling but they make me look like Shrek and fall out cycling. Are those Aftershokz any good @steveindenmark

In lockdown doing home schooling, other than MTB rides with 10 year old son I have not used road bike yet But I have been ‘preparing’ for rides with purchases of new extra wide fit shoes, pedals, Co2 cartridges, tools and recently an Apidura Race pack. The wife insisted I wear a cycle helmet on the road much against my belief but I bought one anyway......just added the rest on too, much to her disgust . I’m in the same dog house as yourself

I’d also suggest the quadlock; mine holds the phone firmly in quite bumpy conditions. The out front mount is pricier, but better placed than the original (I have both).

Every £20 I spend on the bike costs us £50.

I buy a new crankset for £20 and she retaliates with a shrub in a tub costing £30.

I am another who can vouch for the quad lock, however, a word of warning that it does depend on your phone model.
You can purchase covers that have the locking mechanism imbedded into it, however, if you don't have one of the bigger named makes, like me (Xiaomi Mi9T), you will have to purchase a universal mount that is basically the mechanism backed with 3M sticky tape which you stick to the back of your phone's cover - a pain if you decide to change phone covers.
But...the secureness of the mount is top notch.

I really like them and have no problem hearing the traffic. The only downfall is its blowing a gale. Otherwise clear and plenty loud enough.

Go for Wahoo Bolt or Roam.

Another vote for quad lock.

I bought a skin for my bike navigation phone (an old Moto e with no SIM) and stuck the 3m thing to it. Solid as a rock.
