I am always a bit stupid after a race. I took it off the bike and put it on the roof of the car. Much faffing about later, we left the race HQ, Garmin never made it inside the car.

Oh dear! I have a client who did that to a blackberry, but she heard it drop, reversed back to see what the noise was and errr, oops!

I have previous for leaving things at races. Total to date includes Garmin, two pairs of shoes (including a £300 pair of Sidis), two wheelsets. So far have managed to get everything back eventually, but I'm not holding my breath for the Garmin.

I race once or twice a week, so as a percentage spread it's not so bad. But what amazes me is how many of my lost things have been honestly returned. Cyclists are a pretty decent bunch by and large.
