Come on Vern, keep up, the Youngs and Scott were all born in Scotland ;-)Ajay your geography is out of alignment.
AC/DC are Australian!![]()
So that still leaves the question as to the "best" Scottish rock band.Bon Scott was born a few miles from where I am currently sitting...but even I would not claim that ACDC were Scottish! Deffo an aussie band with Scots-born members.

I added 2 question marks because I don't have a tongue-in-cheek smiley - it was a joke!C'mon Ajay, keep up.
They might have been born in Scotland but I've yet to meet a Scot who claims that the band is Scottish.
I do not dislike him, nor ACDC post-Bon, but there is just something about Bon's voice and the early stuff which I love. The "sound" of ACDC has not really moved on since Bon died so I reckon that is testament to how much he influenced them. Johnson has been lead singer for a lot longer than Bon ever was, and has taken ACDC to a much higher plane in global terms...so I am probably in the minority. Brian Johnston sings "Bon Scott" ACDC songs really well. ButI reckon if Bon had lived he would have taken them in a different direction - which may seem silly as they are HUGE. Bon had a charm which I don't think anyone has ever matched; he was raw and crude...but insightful. And I can still play Bon ACDC and be excited by it, and play it to my teenage daughter and her frends, who are all "rock/cool" nobbers - they "know" Bon Scott and it's the only time I am not seen as a crusty old git.
