Hi everyone, Just joined the forum today and already asking questions so i feel a little bit cheeky. Does anyone have preference as to what tyres for commuting in the way of rolling or puncture resistance. I am looking in the 26" range, so any advice is greatly recieved.

If you want the minimum chance of punctures, go for marathon plus but you pay a bit of a price on the rolling resistance. Other possibilities are conti gator skins or 4 seasons. Lots of other possibilities, depends if you like fat soft tyres to soak up the potholes or skinny hard ones to zip along on.

Hi SurlyNomad and welcome. What do you weigh? What kind of riding are you planning?

I'm a big fan of good old Continental Supersonics and recently discovered Panaracer RiBiMos. Both are high quality tyres with excellent puncture protection.

i have 1.25 on at the momment and they look a little on the thin side, im around the 15 stone mark myself. I might try some new 1.25's not that i need them as the tyres i have are new but they are stock tyres that came with the bike and dont look up to much.

i have armadillos on, whilst they are quite heavy they are really strong. Had Conti's in the past but used to go through innertubes all the time as the tyre wore down, had the armadillos on now since April and they have been fine.
