bet places for waterproof gear for biking please

can anybody advise on proper gear- no big names please, i can't pay 200 for a darn jacket!

I don't know where you've went though but I've never paid £200 for a jacket. I like Endura gear iirc my last jacket was £85 or £90 from a lbs, I think on line it was £80 but I prefer to try on clothes. Altura probably falls into that bracket too, vfm wise. Of the Italian stuff I find Giordana gives the best VfM and other Italian makes you will be paying (what I'd call) stupid money

Wiggle's own brand, dhb, is usually well made and doesn't cost silly money. If something doesn't fit you can send it back post free.

Go to Cyclestore - nice Polaris jacket there for £30. I have one - not the boil in the bag variety and it is waterproof. For over trousers I use Halfords (he says in a whisper). £20 - zips and velcro up the side - waterproof although I'd suspect they might ride up if you have long legs - fine for commuting duties anyway!
