For slightly more money you could get a Wild County Duolite tent @ £119 in postage from Nevis Sports.

I've just bought one and in an erection test, ooer missus, I managed to erect the tent then pack it away in under ten minutes. The tent goes up in one. The poles are on the outside. It's roomy enough and it packs down to a small enough package.

I don't know of anything at or cheaper than your existing tent.

I have one of these but it's seen action and is in need of replacing. I'd happily buy another for touring but wanted to ask if anybody here can suggest a better tent FOR THE SAME OR LESS MONEY?

2kg doesnt sound light to me (Im obsessed with not carrying weight up hills!). I got a £270 ultralight one off ebay secondhand for £140 which weighs less than 1kg...just my thoughts that a good quality one secondhand feels like a better deal than a new one at the same price...? Mind you, I havent done the erection test

I've been working on losing personal weight rather than chasing the odd kilogram here and there in the camping gear. It's been a lot cheaper and a lot more successful with a 25kg weight loss. That's a complete bike and ultralight camping set up.

Thanks all...
Vernon mate...on your tent the poles seem to run through loops on th eoutside of the tent . On mine they run through a 'sewn in tube'....do you think the loops on yours will stand the test of time? Are they sewn on well enough to not ripp off in a gale or after 90 nights of erections?

They aren't loops. They are clips

They aren't loops. They are clips. They appear to be secured well to the flysheet. The manufacturers have a good reputation and the reviews of the tent were positive.

Time will tell. It's destined to be christened in July when I do another 700km of the Danube Cycle Route. I hope to get out for a weekend before that too.

It really is simple to erect and I'm looking forward to many erections in the next few years.

well after much poking around i decided to buy another T2 quecha...for the price I didnt see much else that suits me...I'm a big guy so a 2 man tent is a must, this is easy to pitch, twin skinned, isnt bright coloured, and I know it works well on a tour.

That T2 quecha has shot up in price. I'm sure it was £62 at one point last year.

As with most stores prices vary cyclically to allow the promotion of 'sale prices'. The tent was definitely in the £60+ price braket last year and I was seriously contemplating the purchase of one until I found the Duolite tent which offers a lot more room.
