There are a number of such solutions around the world, the Biceberg from Spain for instance or there is a Dutch version as well. How long before we see something similar in the UK?

The CTC Bicycle Equality Officer would campaign that the British version must be able to cope with tandems, trikes, recumbents, etc.

The 'security services' would also want to see 'improvement' so to make it terrorist proof. The screening and positive vetting process would result in only one bike being parked per hour.

Land prices would mean the only economically viable location for the central London facility would be out near Romford.

That is amazing--but who is going to fund a project like that in any city unless there is a massive upturn in bike usage? I would imagine that it would lie idle in winter in this country!
