I've got a pair of 14mm wide road wheels, on which I want to fit some wider tyres.

They've currently got a pair of 700 x 25 tyres fitted. Can I fit a pair of 700 x 35 tyres? Can anyone foresee any problems there? What's the widest tyres I can fit?

There is plenty of room in the frame/forks for big tyres. I am just not sure whether the rims can cope...

Thanks

Probably not - Mavic Open Pros (with a 15mm internal width) have been known to take up to 32mm but not more, although I wouldn't put more than a 28 on.

Hmmm. Think I'll risk a 32mm.

Unless someone wants to swap a pair of decent 17mm wide wheels for an as-new pair of Giant IOU 555s...
