I currently have 3 roof mounted bike carriers, a Thule 591 which is excellent plus two of a similar design, which are almost as good.
Thing is, I am a bit wary of putting my bestest and delicate carbon fibre bike up there, even though I have seen many others do the same with their precious cargo.
Yesterday I was horrified to see a car equipped with the same carrier as me, carrying a Colnago, which was thrashing manically from side to side as the car drove across a rough bit of road. Not pleasant to watch.
I did look at carriers which hold the bike via a skewer through the front forks, which might be a better idea.
Any thoughts ?
