Events, yes, if my three years of experience with Company of Cyclists is anything to go by. With the exception of Bromley, which appeared to be inhabited purely by zombies, we were alwys busy.
Still, the Bromley gig was my birthday, so we just sat and ate cake, while he zombies shuffled past. We'd kind of given up trying to be pro-active by 2pm, when everyone we'd talked to had pretty much ignored us.. The local council people giving out maps were as apathetic as the general population. I say 'giving out' but actually they just sat in their pop up gazebo, behind tables, not making eye contact with anyone.

me into cycling to work next week but as it is less than a mile up a hill to get to work I have had to plan a much longer "commute" in order to make it viable. So next week I cycle all most to the top the aformentioned hill then turn away from work for a 2 1/2 mile tour of the environs of Hythe before returning to work. All because I asked about buying a bike on the cycle2work scheme!
I enquired as to why. Apparently, last year we ran our bike week at the same time as Environment Week and got a lot of positive feedback from it. So this year we're doing the same - our bike week will be in September to coincide with Environment Week.
