Did anyone catch the new Shitroen advert last night? I can't find it on Utube.

The story appears to be that the new Shitroen 'C-number' is so attractive that as it drives around an anonymous European city it attracts more and more cyclists - so mesmerised by it's beauty that they cannot help but follow it. Pied piper like. The crowd of idiot cyclists grows from just one or two to several hundred and the driver is forced to take evasive action.

Makes me want to find one and throw a bike through the windscreen.

This must be the one (in German, but you're not missing much with the words...):

Try seeing the alternative story ... its saying cycling is as fast as being in a car and that we obey lights ... and that we are growing in numbers?   (oh and that they put some car in the ad at the same time...?)

On the other hand, would you say the greatest joy of being on the road was represented by the many smiling, unconventional, happy-to-be-themselves cyclists or the smug man in a box who has to look behind to reassure himself that he's the leader of the pack? He's the kind of driver - though he could just as easily be in a black Audi or VW Golf - that I tend to stay behind at lights because they're usually so unconnected to the road that they wouldn't know if there were a breeze or not. Or whether there were a cyclist alongside or not. Or in front....

Anyhow, does that useless driver do a right turn at the first lights without checking where the cyclist on the cyclepath alongside is and then red light jump the second set - after all, how comes all the cyclists have to wait while the car goes? C4s are definitely going on my blacklist.

I believe the notion is that the cars emissions are so low cyclists would prefer to be behind that car than any other?

Right. Thanks.

Why I couldn't have worked that out for myself I don't know
