Hey all,

I've been hanging around the forums for a while and decided to join in.

I'm very late to cycling (47) but now I can't stop. From a position of no exercise and being slightly overweight, I've ridden 160 miles in a little over 4 weeks, not big numbers by many of the folks here, but little and often is my motto.

All that on a 20yr old (Bright Orange) Apollo MB. Next month, (after careful reading of the forums/reviews), I'm going for a Hybrid, specifically a Boardman - can't wait to see the difference (hoping there is one).

Completed a 18.8km ride this evening, avg speed 19.1 - a new record for me.

Thanks for having me! :bicycle:

Welcome Good effort. Just wait until you get your new machine. You'll fly.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Hi. Welcome to the forum. And better late than never to cycling and believe me, your not the oldest person here who started cycling after a long lay off.:welcome:

Hi and welcome @Phat Al now as to the "late" start I wonder if it's ever to late to start lol it only made me wish I had started sooner than I did ! and well done on your mileage etc before long you will be covering "vast" distances.

Hi and welcome to the forums.
I've got a Boardman Hybrid and am averaging 14 mph on my rides which race from 2.7 to 40 miles.

I'm in Quedgeley so local to you. Last weekend I cycled to Tewkesbury with the Kingsway Cycle Club. I've done nearly 1K miles on the bike now.
