Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Do they think we won't notice that we don't celebrate Thanksgiving?

Yeh, I quite liked it when it "came over" and there were genuine "Black Friday" prices. Now it's just nobbery.

I gather it's shoot in the US too, with the other charming fact that it now starts on Thursday afternoon, which means the poor sales staff don't get to spend the most important feast day with their family.

As above, I thought it was good when I first became aware of it and was of the impression there were genuine bargains/sales to be had - I now reckon it's just retailers flogging stuff under a "badge" - I'm all for discounts, but if you are going to name a day make sure it's actually the day mentioned!!

I think it's also just a way for stores to clear out some old stock that's probably going to be replaced by newer versions very soon.
