Be careful out there. Don't know what it's like elsewhere but the forecast seems to have been wrong and colder than it said after the big thaw. I've not seen this much black ice knocking around in ultra urban areas in 15 years. Absolutely gigantic quantities of it all over the place where it doesn't even normally frost.

Listen to the tyres!

I do. I often encounter crinkle sprinkle crinkle sprinkle when cycling along in the late evening as it frosts over on higher ground. I haven't seen such gigantic quantities of floor polished black ice in quite a long time in places it never ever frosts.

I've never seen the like. Trying to walk uphill this morning was entertaining. Stopped and then slid backwards and sideways five yards across the road till I hit the edge of the frozen slush. People were on all fours trying to cross the road. Like glass everywhere, quite amazing really.

Got me the day before yesterday. Both wheels suddenly went and I landed on my face. I'm still aching all over - not so much bruising as muscular stuff.

First of gouldina, welcome to the forums.

And for a first post it's a fall. :smile:
Hope you weren't too hurt and the bike is ok

Not nice when you do go, happens very quick and there is nothing you can usually do about it. And the older you get the longer it takes for the aches to go. :tongue:

Thanks ianrauk.
I was very careful today. Walked over any icy and snowy bits. I really couldn't face the embarrassment of turning up at work for a second time this week looking like I'd been beaten up :biggrin:

I fell on my arse today on black ice and banged my head* on the road - in front of my kids school so only obout 50 onlookers...

I wasn't even on my bike! I was pushing it to the main road when my feet totally went from under me.

* yes i was wearing a helmet!
