Panter

Just call me Chris...
There were huge swarms of the buggers on the country lanes yesterday.
Thing is, as it was such a bleak, Grey day yesterday, I decided to do the commute without riding glasses.
That was the first, and last ever time ever, that I ride without eye protection. No sooner has I scraped one out from the back of my eyeball when the next one thudded in.

Had a serious case of Redeye time I got home!

Roll on the frosts...

I was about to post about this myself. Where have they all come from? Why this time of year?

They are everywhere in our offices, had to chase one out of my living room window and I had two in my bedroom when I was trying to sleep last night. Had a proper comedy farce moment as it landed on my lampshade, I twatted with a magazine and of course blew the light out ... five seconds later - "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz".

My ride alongside the river yesterday afternoon...i had just that. They were actually hurting as the hit me (small flies, dont know what ones exactly). Clouds of em. I suspect any sudden change to warmer temps spurs them on.

Are we talking about those bloody swarms that hang about under trees ?

If so they are doing my nut in, got to the junction about 500yds after the start of my commute and spent ages spitting the things out.

I stopped for a beer on my cycle run the other week and got absolutely covered in the things. They were attracted to my bright yellow cycling jacket which i had to take off and put on a separate table so I could drink my ale in peace!!!!

Boring I know but I thought I'd share it with you.

ZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!
