Heard the odd episode of it and have just downloaded the whole 4 series.
Will give a proper opinion next week.

Does anyone else think this R4 programme is the funniest, silliest, wittiest thing since the Great Exhibition? The only thing under the heading "comedy" that makes me laugh out loud at the moment.

Please tell me I'm not alone.

The best thing since sliced bread. What's not to like with the name 'Gently Benevolent'

Is that the one with Pip Bin or something similar in it? I've yet never given it a chance but will do so next time it's on.
I'm a Count Arthur Strong man myself and The Bob Servant emails thing on Wednesday night was great- about baiting a Nigerian email spammer. It's still on iPlayer if you fancy a laugh, and only 15 mins - see Bob Servant Emails

You aren't alone Tiny. That and 'Count Arthur. are definately chortlesome.

I'm not sure if another series is planned but 'Clair in the Community' was a great.

Oh I heard that email thing, excellent!

And I love Bleak Expectations too....

Count Arthur Strong, I've never sure about - but I find myself laughing along anyway....

BBC R4 has started some great comedies. Bleak Expectations is a great spoof of the Victorians. If you liked that listen out for The "Wordsmiths of Gorsmere (an everyday story of towering genius)" a take off of the Wordsworths. It includes Lord Byro and Samuel Taylor Cholerick.
Went to see Count Arthur's show a couple of years ago. Steve Delaney was signing CD's after the show. He signed them Arthur. Great night.

Count Arthur is my number 1, I also really like Clare in the community, Hut 33 and Cabin Pressure.
Has anybody else heard 'On the Blog'? Great show that I only recently discovered about a geeky internet blogger and his dragon of a mother (Caroline Quentin)

I like Count Arthur, but there are too many repeats - I've heard them all before! I also find Ed Reardon pretty amusing in a curmudgeonly way. No, Bleak Expectations is still top of the tree for me.

Ah yes Ed Reardon I like too, grumpy old man, can't think why I like that one

Inspector Steine and The Castle also have their funny moments

First prog I listen to when I get chance to have the laptop and empty house is "The Navy Lark". I remember this as a kid  . Then "Clare in the Community" which I also search for on Wednesdays Society supplement in the Grauniad :becool: .
Then anything that catches my eye including Bleak Expectations though these are getting repeated a lot.
