Just had the cops round......

Some scallies have half inched my neighbour's Scirocco...a new one....

6pm..........

We'd just gone out......so didn't see anything..... They tried to get in the back, couldn't, so kicked the front door - a new UPVC door, got the sweet spot and the whole lower panel popped out...never mind the multi point locking eh......

Straight in, keys and a laptop...off..............gone.........

Thank god we kept our old solid wood front door, and have a UPVC porch on - UPVC doors are crap TBH...yeh the locks are good, but it's easy to go through the panels... one foot print apparently........:hugs:

Did they not hear that their front door was being kicked in ? And their keys were in easy reach in their hall ........

Doesn't a car like the Shirocko have a tracker/immobiliser?

Probably out - it's a company car, but he uses public transport 'most' of the time (Yes I know.....money wasting)........ - they have two cars - obviously broke in before they got home........ missus out in hers.........

Not a big deal, but it shows you these UPVC multi lock doors are 'sh1t'........

I've seen that many get popped on TV, the copper tonight said its easy with a foot, especially if you have a 'split' door - i.e. a glass panel, then a bottom panel (harder with a full panel) - having seen the door we had fitted recently...OK full panel...but they are a thin mdf type packing with a plastic coating, then fitted into the frame.........

Be warned..............

And yet we were told after a break in many years ago that on an old single pane of glass door it was easy to flex the door - and that one with a cross bar would provide more strength. Just shows how advice can change - or it could be to do with the age of the door.

This happened on our recycling round on Monday. We pedalled past the scene a couple of times, but I didn't get to see one gun, let alone "more guns than you would see in Afghanistan".

We didn't pick up the recycling from that particular house that day....;)
