Looking for a rack for my new shed and found this, but why would someone bid £21 when the same shop has a buy it now price of £15.99 ?

Because some folk just don't do their homework, and as a result every now and then the seller will get a 'bidding war' on an item for no apparent reason.

The seller is probably sat there laughing their whatsits off about it, good luck to them and caveat emptor I say.

Not just one  there are 2 bids over £15.99

Like smokeysmoo says people don't do their homework, or read further than the first screen anyway..............

We've been looking at an Ottoman style gas lift bed for my son. Found a local (ish) supplier. £120 delivered for the 'frame' no mattress. They are also selling shop soiled/slight damage ones that are open to bid on with £15 delivery charge. We've watched them, and most are selling for over £100 plus £15 postage, and they aren't 'perfect' - we've just ordered the 'brand new' one !

I've found that with the business sellers and BIN prices it's often cheaper to find their own website and buy direct. I can only assume that they mark up a bit for e-bay to offset fees.
