The guy who runs the pub bike club with me installed the fire suppression system to Bloodhound. He says that Andy Green is a very imposing character and demands that he knows everything about every component in the vehicle.

I liked the bit about rotational G - at 1000mph a bag of sugar placed on the wheel rim would weigh 55 tons

At speeds over 400mph the wheels can no longer turn as fast as the car moves! So they are basically in a controlled skid!

These tests were done with rubber tyres. They will need to fit solid metal wheels for the big speeds.

I had no idea it was on and we drove right past it an hour afterwards, maybe we could've timed it a bit better.
