I often wonder which presents the greatest accident hazard in a pedestrian area, a wet floor, or a yellow cone warning of the possibility of a wet floor.

Get on the road................ pedestrianised areas are for peds - any proper cyclist would have ridden the couple of miles round that route to add on extra training miles..........sheesh.......
They guy was probably unaware if it was a cycle route - flipping stupid one at that though !

If I was walking there I would have been suprised, cycling upto a automatic door is odd.

Sorry it looked like a sliding door.
Had you got off 2-3 yards before the door/entrance problem solved.
Why cycle all the way and create a potential conflict when dismounting 2-3 yards sooner stops it. As I said both parties could/should have done more to prevent this.)
