The roads around here are pretty awful at the mo. I'm having to hose down the bike at the end of every day. It (and me) look like I've just done a cyclo-cross. But some good cheer. Today was my last commute for the year, the next time will see the days longer than now, yippee.

:biggrin:HAPPY CHRISTMAS COMMUTERS

there's a building site of some kind on the Whipps Cross Road to the Green Man

yeah it's signposted, yeah they've got some sort of sweeper truck working but the inside two to three to four feet of the road is a slick mix of mud and grit, I tired being brave earlier in the week but it's suspect and the mudguards and shows look like I've been on a farm

so well out into the road this morning, all the way to the 24th here

The "quiet lane" I go up (see Bad Neighbour / Good Neighbour) thread is covered in a lovely slick of mud, grit, s**t and all sorts. It's worse in the middle bit where it's not swept by the car wheels, but there's not really enough cars going up down there to sweep the sides, so it's all good fun.

Between that, and the deep mud in the woods just beyond, I think I'm going back to the knobblies this weekend until the Spring. The slicks just aren't happy any more.
